Congratulations on completing your training as a psychotherapist, but your relationship with ACCPI does not end here. Your membership in ACCPI will be maintained throughout your professional life to keep your certifications current. Moreover, being part of an academic community helps you not to feel alone in your profession. The vast majority of psychotherapists work alone in their offices, so belonging to a professional association and having periodic contact with colleagues is beneficial.
To complete your professional training at ACCPI, you must follow a series of steps:
- Passing the final exams, submitting your dissertation, papers, and protocols for supervised cases. Once these aspects are finalized, ACCPI will send your diploma to be countersigned by a representative of the Romanian College of Psychologists. Simultaneously, your diploma will be sent to the Romanian Federation of Psychotherapy, which issues the psychotherapist certificate, which we will send to you electronically and by courier in physical format. We will also send you electronically, by email, the diploma countersigned by the representative of the Romanian College of Psychologists, along with the diploma appendices (the Romanian College of Psychologists only issues documents in electronic format).
- For those who hold a supervised practice license from the Romanian College of Psychologists and wish to change their status to autonomous, it is important to submit the relevant file to the CPR, according to the specifications on the CPR website. ACCPI will send you the supervision report electronically, which you need for your file.
- If you wish to obtain the European Certificate of Psychotherapy, please let us know so we can send you the application form you need to complete. ACCPI centralizes the applications and sends them to the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP). You will need to pay a fee to EAP for the issuance of the certificate, along with the annual membership fee to EAP. The European Psychotherapist Diploma will be sent to you by courier by ACCPI.
Continuing Professional Development Remember that you need 10 credits/year to maintain your practice license with the Romanian College of Psychologists, which can be obtained from completing a course in continuing professional education, summer schools, or conferences. Events organized by ACCPI are posted each year on our website.
To maintain certification by the Romanian Federation of Psychotherapy and the European Association for Psychotherapy, you need 250 credits/5 years, which can be obtained from: continuing professional education courses, summer schools, conferences and congresses, participation in commissions and specialty committees, peer review and supervision, publishing articles, journals and other materials, professional debates, roundtables, and other professional-specific activities.
Continuing Studies If you wish to continue your studies at ACCPI, undergoing another training organized by us, you will need to complete part of the theoretical-applied training modules, 10 hours of individual therapy, and half of the number of supervision hours.
A Career at ACCPI If you wish to pursue a career as a trainer and/or supervisor at ACCPI, we invite you to study the website dedicated to trainers and supervisors to see the admission requirements in the training program for trainers and supervisors. If you meet the conditions, please contact us by phone or email to request admission to this program: 0744.333.632 or secretariat.accpi@gmail.com
Specialty Publications ACCPI is involved in publishing the European Journal for Qualitative Research in Psychotherapy (EJQRP), where we invite you to publish as well. EJQRP publishes two volumes a year and aims to provide an accessible forum for theoretical and practical research in psychotherapy, supporting the practitioner researcher.
