The academic regulations pertain to various situations we may encounter throughout our training, along with the support we can receive.

Learning Difficulties Training in psychotherapy is unique in that trainees must not only acquire a certain level of theoretical and practical knowledge but also a level of personal development. Sometimes, although we understand the concepts theoretically, we encounter difficulties with practical applicability. When personal issues hinder the effective treatment of clients/patients, we will require the trainee to undergo additional hours of personal development/individual psychotherapy until the obstacles are overcome. Similarly, we may recommend additional hours of supervision.

The decision to recommend additional hours of personal development, individual psychotherapy, or supervision is never made by a single trainer; such decisions are made by the professional committee.

On the other hand, when learning difficulties stem from certain mental disorders or are due to drug use, these issues require treatment before continuing with psychotherapy training.

Interruptions In documented situations related to illness, pregnancy and maternity, or events with major psychological impact, training interruptions are approved for a period of 1-2 years, without the need to repeat already completed parts of the training. Interruptions during the supervision period are subject to the regulations of the Romanian College of Psychologists.

Transfers In documented situations, such as relocation to another city, transfers from one training group to another are accepted.

Transfers to and from another professional association are also accepted. Trainees wishing to transfer to another professional association will receive from ACCPI a certificate attesting to the number of training hours completed. Upon request, a transcript corresponding to the completed hours is also issued.

In the case of transfers from another professional association to ACCPI, we will consider the modules completed, provided that the professional association from which the potential trainee comes is at least accredited by the Romanian College of Psychologists. The professional committee will decide how much of the already completed training program will be credited.

Ethical Code The behavior of ACCPI trainees will conform to the ethical code, published by the ethics committee on the association’s website.

Social Media Social media can bring immense benefits and opportunities to academic communities, facilitating global communication and debates. ACCPI encourages trainees to use social media responsibly and to be aware of the sometimes unexpected and long-term consequences of irresponsible use. Offensive comments or content posted on social media may constitute a violation of the ethical code and can lead to disciplinary measures.
